Beware of Booking Fees with VRBO, AirBnB, and Others

Travel websites with comprehensive vacation rental listings are popular resources for guests searching for vacation homes.  These include VRBO, AirBnB, HomeAway, TripAdvisor and others.  Destination Vacation has been a strong supporter of these websites through the years, but we want you to be aware of some new fees they are charging guests who book reservations on their site and let you know how to avoid paying these fees.

National travel websites may charge extra fees in the range of 6%-10% to guests who book directly on their website.  Unfortunately, this fee is just an extra means of income for the travel website, despite the fact that all property listings have annual subscription fees, which have already been paid to the website by the property manager or private owner of the vacation home.  More importantly, the new service fee does not provide an added benefit to the guest or the vacation experience.

We encourage all guests to visit our official website (DVHHI.com) for the best and most competitive availability and prices.  Guests will save 6%-10% of the total rental rate booking directly on our website compared to booking on a national travel website since the added service charge imposed by the travel site will not be included.
