Coligny Plaza offers shopping, dining, groceries, live entertainment and service experiences in the heart of Hilton Head's "downtown."  The original shopping center of Hilton Head, Coligny Plaza has been a local and guest favoriate for over 40 years.

The plaza surrounds a duck pond, where visitors can view wildlife indigenous to the Island. It features over 50 specialty shops and restaurants that provide unique products, services, and experiences. Summer nights feature free live entertainment, ranging from concerts to magic shows. Two main features of Coligny Plaza are the Piggly Wiggly grocery store with some of the island's best local seafood and the Coligny Theater. Originally named The Island Theater, the Coligny Theatre opened in 1972 and was for many years the only theater on Hilton Head.  It has since been fully renovated and reopened as the Coligny Theatre with focus on art films and features from independent producers that target an upscale adult audience.

Coligny Plaza’s location makes for a great shopping experience and advertises itself as being exactly 73 steps from the beach. Numerous clothes and accessory stores can keep you up to date on all the latest fashions, including Island Girl for fashionable kids clothing, Camp Hilton Head for T-shirts and souvenirs and the Quiet Storm Surf Shop.

The plaza also has much to offer in the way of cuisine. It features many eateries, some unique and some familiar. The Island Fudge shop and the French Kiss Bakery offer delicious treats for you and your family, Java Joe's is a favorite coffee shop among locals, Skillets is an excellent choice for brunch and Vine is one of Hilton Head's finest restaurants with exquisite cuisine and an extensive wine menu.
