8 Gadwall is a gorgeous, custom-built oceanfront home in Sea Pines. Located in the heart of South Beach, this luxury rental features 7 bedrooms plus a private study with queen sleeper sofa, 7 full and 1 half baths and bedding for 18 guests. High end appointments and quality construction are balanced with plush furniture, cheerful colors and an open floorplan. This home offers exceptional amenities, such as private pool (can be heated for additional charge), spa, outdoor living area and extensive balconies with sunset views.

The 1st floor of this home features a large great room with coffered ceilings, formal dining, living room and open kitchen with center island and breakfast bar. The kitchen is outfitted with GE Monogram stainless appliances, including a gas range and oven. A large laundry room with spare refrigerator, half bath and access to the garage underneath the home provide ample utility space, and direct access from the kitchen to outdoor living area provide the perfect arrangement for outdoor dining or refreshments. The fully furnished outdoor living area features a grill, TV and ocean views with the sounds of the swimming pool waterfall feature as the perfect backdrop.

The master suite features a king bed, flat screen TV, patio access and ocean views. The large master bath has a double vanity with granite counter and walk-in shower with glass doors. Located just outside the master bedroom is a private study with queen sleeper sofa, 2 chairs, closet and flat screen TV. Guests sleeping in this private study can use the master bathroom or the other half or full baths on the first floor. Also on the 1st floor is a guest bedroom with king bed, flat screen TV and full bath with walk-in shower and entrances from the hallway or within the bedroom.

The 2nd floor features 5 bedrooms, 3 of which are part of an extensive balcony with ocean views. The oceanside bedrooms include a master suite with king bed, TV and full bath with double vanity and walk-in shower on the left side of the home. The middle oceanside bedroom features a king bed, 2 chairs and sitting area with TV and full bath with walk-in shower, and the third oceanside bedroom features a king bed, TV and full bath with walk-in shower. Also on the 2nd floor is a kids bedroom that can accommodate up to 4 guests with bunk beds (Twin/Twin) and a separate queen bed, mounted flat screen TV, private balcony on the front of the home and full bath with separate tub and walk-in shower. The 5th bedroom on this level features a queen bed, TV and lobster-themed full bath with walk-in shower.

Amenities at 8 Gadwall will make you feel like you are staying at your own private resort. The private pool features a heated spa and separate sitting pool with waterfall feature. The pool deck is furnished with tables, chairs and chaise lounges overlooking the pool and backyard with ocean in the background. Spa heat is included with your rental and the pool can be heated for an additional fee. The outdoor living area is a fully furnished covered patio with ceiling fan, grill and mounted TV. The garage has been converted into a Game Room with full size ping pong and pool tables, foosball, air hockey and a mini Pac Man arcade game. The home is outfitted with cable and the latest flat screen TVs, and wireless internet is available at no cost to guests.

The location of 8 Gadwall in Sea Pines is unbeatable. The South Beach Marina Village is right across the street and easily walkable, and a network of bike trails will take you from Gadwall to any location you desire within or outside Sea Pines Plantation. Sea Pines is a world-class vacation resort with pristine beaches, miles of biking trails, Lawton Stables with live petting zoo, public golf courses, including Harbour Town Golf Links, Racquet Clubs, shopping, restaurants and fully operational marinas in Harbour Town and South Beach with water sports, fishing charters and live entertainment. Most Sea Pines amenities are open to the public, but some may have parking fees or seasonal rates as determined by the resort. 8 Gadwall was a wonderful spot for our vacation. We really enjoyed our stay. Two comments; The small dishwasher needs a new silverware basket. The current basket is full of holes and can’t be used. The water level in the pool seemed to drop despite adding water and having a heavy rain.

House was very nice and location was perfect on the beach. All amenities were excellent. Pool was heated perfectly and hot tub was great. Short walk to village and pickleball was nice and convenient. Game room was a BIG hit with kids and adults!! Already reserved for next year!

Our whole group of 15 loved the home. The open concept living and outside and inside dining areas were perfect. Of all of the houses we have rented on the island this one had the best outdoor gathering area with shade and ocean breeze. The location gave us a beach that was easy to get to and had limited use. I'm sure the hot tub issues we experienced will soon be resolved.

It is a great comfort to know the rental home will be clean and look as nice as the pics. I know with DVHHI I can go arrive and not be disappointed. With all the planning and money that goes into a family vacation the home you stay in with set the tone of the trip. The particular trip was my daughters wedding week so it was most important to have a beautiful home to stay with our 2 families.

Our family really enjoyed our recent stay at 8 Gadwall. The house is very well maintained, it has lots of bedrooms, and the kitchen is large, clean, and well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/silverware/cooking tools, coffee-makers, etc. Lots of shaded outdoor seating is a plus, as well as the large basement with ping-pong and a pool table. I strongly recommend installing an additional ice-maker, and moving the 2nd refrigerator to the laundry room off the kitchen would be nice. We had a few maintenance issues that were addressed quickly. We’ve stayed at many homes in Sea Pines over 40 years and 8 Gadwall is one of the best. It’s a great house for a family week at the beach and we look forward to coming back next year.

We had a great experience in our house. Really liked the under cover outdoors living space. Spent most of our time there. Pools were good though large pool could be deeper. Enjoyed the proximity to South Beach. We plan to come back next year!

3rd year staying at 8 Gadwall, the house and location are perfect for our group, we couldn’t ask for a prettier spot and seldom leave the area except for our daily biking. Any call to DV with minor issues was answered promptly and kindly, great service, plan to return next year!!!! Thank you everyone!!!
