"My wife and I share a love of coastal living. She is a rare native of “old” Naples, Florida, having grown up literally across the street from the Gulf of Mexico. Born in South Carolina, I have always loved the lowcountry’s natural beauty. We began vacationing in Hilton Head when we had our first child and soon began exploring the idea of purchasing a home that we could furnish and enjoy as a true second home. A contractor once told us that the only way we wouldn’t lose our minds as rental property owners was to think of the place as a business. We reject that notion. We really do think of this spot on this perfect island as our second home, a place we share with our children and our friends and those who visit via Destination Vacation.
