12 Painted Bunting is a stunning, direct oceanfront custom home in Sea Pines Resort. This luxury rental features 7 bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa nook, 7 full and 1 half bath plus an additional pool bath, 3 primary suites, gourmet kitchen with the finest appliances, multiple living rooms, covered balcony and relaxing outdoor pool/spa. The attention to detail, quality construction and first-class furnishings go hand-in-hand with the oceanfront location on Hilton Head Island. This magnificent home sleeps up to 22 guests.

Upon entering the home, the elegant chandelier and unique barrel vaulted ceiling will immediately catch your eye before your focus settles on the stunning ocean views through the living room windows. The living room features coffered ceiling, hardwood floors made of hickory, 60" HDTV with surround sound and impressive architectural features and leads to the dining area with large farm table for 12 and gourmet kitchen. The kitchen is straight out of Architectural Digest with gorgeous center island, high-end appliances, custom cabinets and countertops, two sinks, two dishwashers, warming drawer, wine cooler and bar seating. French doors lead from the dining area to the covered outdoor living area with dining table for 8, summer kitchen and pool, spa and ocean as the perfect backdrop.

The 2nd floor living room/media room features a 70" HDTV with surround sound, kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher, and access to the screened porch overlooking the pool and ocean. Views from this level are spectacular!

The main level of the home features a Primary Suite with ocean views, king bed and full bath with walk-in closet, stand-alone tub and walk-in shower. The other bedroom on the main level features a king bed and full bath with walk-in shower.

The second floor features 2 stunning king primary suites, each with ocean views. The primary bedroom on the left side of the home also has a daybed, access to shared screened porch and full bath with expansive closet space and walk-in shower. The right side primary suite has a private oceanfront balcony as well as access to a shared screened porch and full bath with walk-in shower and closet. The second level also features a guest bedroom with king bed and full bath with walk-in shower, large kids room with a set of bunk beds, 3 twin beds, queen sleeper sofa and full bath, and sleeper sofa nook that will accommodate up to two guests. Additionally, and new in 2026, a bedroom suite with king bed and daybed has been added above the garage with its own private entry from the ground level or a pass-thru entry via the kids room.

Amenities at 12 Painted Bunting will take your vacation to the next level. The home is equipped with 60" and 70" flat screen TVs in the living rooms, 55" TV in the kids room and 42" TVs in all other bedrooms. A highlight of the home is its spectacular outdoor living space. With fully furnished covered patio and built-in gas grill, the setting is perfect for entertaining, dining, reading or relaxing. Swim to your heart's content in the 17" x 36" private pool with underwater bench seating and let the whirlpool spa massage away your stresses. The paver pool deck features chaise lounges and deck chairs, and the outdoor dining table on the covered patio will comfortably seat 8 guests. Spa heat is included with your rental and the pool can be heated for an additional fee. Wireless internet is available at no cost to guests and garage use is allowed for all guests of this home. In addition, paying guest reservations staying between 4-21 nights will receive VayK Life beach/bike gear credit. This will be emailed to you after making a reservation and is valid for VayK Life rentals only.

Instructions were very clear. Communication was prompt, accurate, and friendly. Office staff were pleasant and helpful. A couple of requests that we had were met immediately. The house was very clean and well stocked. Plenty of towels and kitchen ware. High quality appliances and furniture. Beds were all very comfortable. We had a great vacation! Thank you!

12 Painted Bunting is a wonderful home for a large family that enjoys a well equipped kitchen expanding to a dining room that accommodates 14-16 comfortably … a large covered patio with enough seating for everyone who loves to enjoy each others stories and views of deer and sea oats framing the ocean view…lots of king-size beds to sleep late or sneak out early on the patio to secure your place on one of three sofas…a huge beautiful pool and hot tub that has a panoramic view … this house provides the space that many large families need and desire to make beach memories.

Except for ELSA everything was great. We feel at home at 12 painted bunting ! As an aside, you may not be aware that the toilet in the 1/2 bath on the first floor frequently keeps running. Thank you for being very responsive and making our annual HHI vacation process easy.

Many times a rental does not live up to the online photos; this property was the opposite - it was more impressive in person, and that was despite our having high expectations going in. We wanted something that would feel like a vacation, even if we needed to hunker-down due to Covid concerns. We were very pleased with the spaciousness and outdoor amenities, and easy access to the beach. The home was very well maintained and nicely furnished. The kitchen was impeccably outfitted. Location was great. Overall, we loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to rent it again.
